Eli Schwartz-Gralla
Eli was born and raised in Check, Virginia and was home schooled by his parents on their mountain homestead. His love and appreciation of the beauty of nature is apparent in all of his creations. At the age of 14, Eli decided to attend a democratic alternative school which encouraged its students to find apprenticeships that interested them. After trying several different mediums, Eli developed an interest in glass blowing and eventually set up shop back in Check. Beginning with FloydFest 2002, he has traveled to shows from Pennsylvania to Florida and has already won three awards, including Best in Show at Durham NC's CenterFest. When asked about glass blowing, Eli will tell you he has truly found his passion.
