Michael's work has evolved from carving all stone sculptures to using wood as the primary medium, combined with stone. Each piece of wood is cut, smoothed, stained and brought to an appropriate finish for its function. Stone pieces are carved and usually polished. Costello's works can be found in the legendary Blue Spiral Gallery in Asheville, NC. They can also be found at art shows, galleries, and homes throughout the country. His most recent works have a marvelous kinetic element to them. The Costello's have three children, and are former BMS parents.
